Construction Q&A: How many people can work on a boom-supported work platform?

Does Oregon OSHA limit the number of people that can work from a boom-supported work platform if the lift's maximum weight limit is not exceeded?

Oregon OSHA's requirements for boom-supported work platforms do not limit the number of occupants, as long as the lift manufacturer doesn't limit the maximum occupancy to one person. Keep in mind, you must follow all of the lift manufacturer's recommendations, including the load-carrying capacity for the device. Additionally, everyone working from the lift must use personal fall protection that complies with Oregon OSHA's Division 3, Subdivision M requirements.
