What can be more illuminating than the topic of illumination? It is complicated. Too much light makes it difficult to work well and too little light has the same effect. Workplace lighting has to strike a balance between visual comfort and performance; workers have to be able to clearly see what they are doing without the illumination becoming too harsh or obstructive.
Outdoor lighting is even more complicated because the quantity and quality of natural light changes throughout the day.
