Overview

The most impressive landscapes in Oregon are entirely natural, require little or no human intervention, and have existed for millennia. Human-made landscapes can be impressive, too, as humans try to put their own imprint on the environment.

Anyone in Oregon who advertises, operates as, or uses the title of a landscape contractor or landscape business must be licensed with the Landscape Contractors Board (LCB). Before they can be licensed, contractors must take a comprehensive exam administered by the LCB. The exam includes questions about Oregon OSHA’s workplace safety and health rules.

OSHA requires that employers conduct all required training of workers in a language and vocabulary workers can understand.
