Electric Power Generation, Transmission, and Distribution Advisory Committee

About

Oregon OSHA developed the Electric Power Generation, Transmission, and Distribution Advisory Committee after federal OSHA published revised Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution standards in the Federal Register on April 11, 2014. The committee is comprised of industry stakeholders including utilities, construction companies, and tree trimmers. Members of the group include representatives from labor, management, and regulatory agencies.

The committee is tasked with addressing the federal revisions and evaluating Oregon-initiated rules Division 3\V of the Construction Standard, Division 2\R of the General Industry Standard, and a variety of other standards that may be affected such as PPE and Fall Protection.

This cooperation between Oregon OSHA and the industry stakeholders will result in a better understanding of the federal revisions and the ability to make changes to Oregon OSHA standards as necessary. The ultimate goal is to provide better protection for workers and a standard that is more inline with the industry's current technology.
