Overview
On July 21, 2023, Federal OSHA announced in the Federal Register amendments to occupational injury and illness recordkeeping regulations to require certain employers to electronically submit injury and illness information to Federal OSHA. This is information that employers are already required to keep under the recordkeeping regulation. Specifically, Federal OSHA amended its regulation to require establishments with 100 or more employees in certain designated industries to electronically submit information from their OSHA Forms 300 and 301 (DCBS form 801 in Oregon) to OSHA once a year.
In response, Oregon OSHA is convening a Rules Advisory Committee (RAC) to discuss amending
OAR 437-001-0700 Recording Workplace Injuries and Illnesses. The new U.S. Department of Labor requirements take effect on January 1, 2024, but Oregon OSHA will have until January 19, 2024 to complete this process.
