• Proposed Adoption of Federal OSHA Changes to Hazard Communication Administrative Rules

• Update: On October 9, 2024, federal OSHA published corrections and technical amendments to the Hazard Communication Standard CFR 1910.1200, this occurred after Oregon OSHA had proposed its adoption by reference on September 24, 2024, of the version of 1910.1200 published in the May 20, 2024, federal register. Given the timing, Oregon OSHA is unable to incorporate these changes into its proposed rule for adoption. Furthermore, federal OSHA has indicated their intent to publish additional corrections in the future. Given the uncertainty in the final language of federal OSHA’s Hazard Communication standard, Oregon OSHA will re-evaluate this rulemaking process after federal OSHA publishes corrections in the Federal Register or otherwise provides information regarding corrections.
